Diaries, 1883-1891, of Nelson kept while working as a civil engineer on the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway, Danville & New River Railroad, Lehigh Valley Railroad and Elizabethtown, Lexington and Big Sandy Railroad; letterbook, 1886-1894, of Nelson of the engineering firm of Nelson and Wallis, Lexington, Ky (most of the letters are to King Bridge Company, Cleveland Ohio and concern the building of railroad trestles.) Volumes also include a notebook, 1916-1923, of Mrs. Olive Nelson concerning flowers, diagrams of plantings and notes on birds. The notebook contains loose items including letters from James Poyntz Nelson.
